Toma KimCPT Kim graduated from Norwich University in 1998 and was commissioned as an Infantry Officer. His first duty assignment was with the 82nd Airborne, Ft Bragg, North Carolina where he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader, and Support Platoon Leader in 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. During his tour, he took part in rotations at the Joint Readiness Training Center and the National Training Center and deployed to Kosovo and the Sinai Peninsula.

Upon completion of Infantry Officer Advanced Course, CPT Kim was assigned to 2nd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division in November 2002 and took on the duties of the Assistant Brigade S3 for operations for eight months before being assigned to 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry (Air Assault) in July 2003 where he served as the Battalion S4 until assuming command of Baker Company in November 2003.

CPT Kim is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic, Captain's Career Course, the Mechanized Leaders Course, the Infantry Mortar Leader Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster Course, and the Ranger Course. He has earned the Senior Parachutist Wings, the Ranger Tab, the Expert Infantryman's Badge, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge.

His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal with one bronze oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal with one bronze oak leaf cluster, the National Defense Service Medal with bronze star, the Kosovo Campaign Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the Kosovo NATO Medal, MFO Medal, and the Army Superior Unit Award.

CPT Kim hails from Los Angeles, California. His wife Robin currently resides in Marietta, Georgia.
