William A. Walsh1LT William Walsh was born on April 28th, 1980 in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated Lehigh University in July 2002. He was commissioned that month, and attended the Engineer Officer Basic Course that fall. His first duty assignment was with the 44th Engineer Battalion at the austere Camp Howze, Republic of Korea (the southern one). There he served first as an assistant S-3 then became a platoon leader in Charlie Company. In August 2004 he was deployed to Camp Habbaniyah, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he currently serves as the company executive officer.

Military schools and education include the Engineer Officer Basic Course, Basic Airborne School, Range School, and the Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense Course.

Awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal (2), the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Korean Defense Service Ribbon, the National Defense Expeditionary Medal, the Ranger Tab, the Basic Parachutist Badge, and the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia for former Wartime Service.

His mother Cynthia Anne lives in Burke, Virginia, and his father William John resides in Arlington, Texas.
