Chaplain's Corner (Dec 04)

I want to begin by wishing all our Currahee family members and friends a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. We have a lot scheduled for our holiday season at Camp Habbaniyah. Just to give you a sample - Two Christmas Eve services, two Christmas Day services, and two events scheduled for December 31st for New Years Eve. Because our missions are on-going, the chapel community will offer a variety of worship and fellowship events. We want to ensure all our soldiers who would like to participate in worship experiences will have an opportunity to do so.

Thanks to many of you, we have received an abundance of items for our soldiers that make our time away a little easier. We are all grateful for your support in many ways. In our chapel, we are surrounded with wonderful Christmas music each week as we are celebrating this Advent season, a season of expectancy and hope. Please know we are praying for you back home each week in our services, and we know you are praying for us. Letters are turned in to me regularly that have prayers written out for us and comments made about churches back home praying for our soldiers. Thank You!! I would like to ask that you continue to pray for the safety of all our service members as we go into the New Year. January 31st is also a significant day for the election process here in Iraq. Please pray all will go well. This will be the first elections held here and will determine the future leadership of Iraq. This is crucial and can also determine how much participation the United States will have in the future. Please pray that God will direct the process in a Sovereign and Providential way.

Again, thank you all for your prayer support and all the items you have sent our way. May God bless you all in every way during this holiday season.
