Chaplain's Corner (Jan 05)

I want to begin by wishing all our Currahee family members and friends a Happy New Year! 2005 is here, and we are excited about what God is doing in our midst during our deployment. I take pleasure in informing you that our Advent, Christmas and New Year's Eve celebration events went well, and a lot of our soldiers took part. We sang many Christmas carols that are so dear to all of us during this season. The soldiers reported they were encouraged and their morale was increased.

As we go into 2005, our desire is to keep the same passion for our spiritual programs alive and keep all our soldiers, family members and friends lifted up in prayer as well. I ask that you continue to lift our guys up for safety and protection as well. We will continue to schedule spiritually uplifting events to meet the needs of our soldiers. I do ask for your on-going prayer support as we assess the deeper spiritual and religious needs of our soldiers as our deployment enters into the new year. We have started an eight week DVD series on Creation vs. Evolution on Fridays to help all our soldiers understand more of God's creative design in creation and His truth. We are also starting a series of sermons that focus on Biblical leadership and knowing God's will for the New Year. For all back home who have sent our soldiers supplies and good stuff from home, I say 'Shukran'! ('Thank you' in Arabic) You do not know how much your support means to all our guys. It is exciting seeing what God is doing here at Camp Habbaniyah! Please know I will update you next month in the Chaplain's Corner section of the FRG newsletters on the 'goings on' here.

As I close for this segment, I would like to say if you would like to e-mail me with prayers, comments, etc., please feel free to do so. My AKO is randal.robison@us.army.mil. I do have a riddle for you to figure out. Who in the Bible broke all 10 of the Ten Commandments? If you know, please send me your reply. I look forward hearing from you!

Again, thank you all for your prayer support and all the items you have sent our way. May God bless you all in every way in 2005!
