Hellcat Newsletter (Feb 05)

For the 1-506th and HHC February was in like a lion and out like a lamb. We made many preparations for the Iraqi National Elections. HHC helped the line companies set up two polling sites near camp Habbaniyah. Our task was to provide logistic support to each site. It was a team effort and when all was said and done the elections in our area were successful and all the Currahees came home safe and secure.

Other HHC highlights during the month of February included a Support Platoon led mission to LSA Anaconda. The Anaconda trip gives soldier access to amenities that they would otherwise not have. Amongst the facilities available at LSA Anaconda are the movie theater, a 24 hour PX, Subway, Pizza Hut, Burger King, and many MWR sponsored events such as comedy shows, musical performances and Salsa night.

Now that the halfway point has been reached and the elections are out of the way, we can turn our attention to redeployment back to the states. There have been various rumors going around about the date of our return. The time line for our move has not been set in stone but as soon as it is, we will let our families know.
