Chaplain's Corner (Mar 05)

I hope all our Currahee family members and friends are doing well. How grateful we are for all of God's blessings during this deployment. Please know that we thank you for your on-going prayer support. We are praying for you as well each week that God will bless you as He has blessed us!

We have a lot of events planned for March. We will continue with the chapel events and programs scheduled for the Lenten season here at Camp Habbaniyah that we began in February. Our Ash Wednesday services went well and started the season off right. We are in week three of the book The Purpose Driven Life on Wednesday evenings. Each week we discuss the prior seven day readings and how they apply to our lives as we grow in our faith in Christ. We have had a good response each week. I invite you to join us in on our daily readings. Our goal is that God will make long and lasting changes in our lives, so when we return we will be kinder, more loving men and women embolden with God's purpose for our lives in a deeper way. The Friday evening Creation vs. Evolution DVD series continues to be a success! The series has helped each of us understand more about God's creative design from the beginning. How amazing He is!

During Lent we started a series of sermons on Sundays focusing on the Cross of Christ. We will continue through Holy Week and Easter Sunday with this theme. I would like to ask that you please pray for our efforts to make this a special season of reflection as we approach Easter Sunday. We will also have a baptism service scheduled on Easter day for our service members who have received Jesus as their Savior. This will be a great occasion and a memorable one as well.

As we continue on through March, our continued desire is to keep the same passion for our spiritual life thriving and to lift up our soldiers, our family members and our friends back home up in prayer as well. We are all grateful for the abundant support you have provided from back home. Please know your support has lifted the morale of all our soldiers more than you can know. I ask that you continue to pray for the safety and protection of all our Currahee Task Force here at Habbaniyah.

It is exciting seeing what God is doing here at Camp Habbaniyah! I would like to hear from you. Please e-mail me with prayers and your comments. My AKO is randal.robison@us.army.mil. I look forward hearing from you soon.

Again, thank you all for your prayer support and all the items you have sent our way. May God bless you in all things!
