Chaplain's Corner (May 05)

Hello again to all our wonderful Currahee family members and friends back home! It is good to report back to you for the month of May. We are excited about the new scheduled events planned for our Camp Habbaniyah Chapel community. I want to first of all send a special blessing to all mothers in the Currahee Family. We will be remembering you and praying for you on Sunday, May 8th during our special Mother's Day service. It is because of what you do, keeping the home going in our absence, that we are able to do our mission. A big 'thank you' to all Currahee mothers!

Some special events to report to you include observing the National Day of Prayer on May 5th. We will spend time in both corporate and private prayer here at the chapel. I encourage you to spend extra time in prayer that day to pray for our nation. Go to www.nationaldayofprayer.org for more information on the events planned for the day, as well as specific requests to focus your prayer. As always, we ask that you continue to pray for all of our soldiers and service members here at Habbaniyah. Thank you! We will also have our 2nd Camp Habbaniyah Prayer Breakfast scheduled for Monday, May 29th - Memorial Day. It will a great time for our soldiers and service members to come together and be thankful and give praises to God.

We concluded our Bible study on The Purpose Driven Life during our weekly Bible study on Wednesday evenings. We are now reading through the book, The Man In The Mirror, by Patrick Morley. It is an excellent devotional that is both challenging and enlightening. On Friday evenings, we are starting a new study on understanding various world views compared to the Christian World view. We are utilizing the DVD resource, Understanding The Times, by Summit Ministries out of Manitou Springs, Colorado about 10 minutes from Colorado Springs. Some of you may be familiar with the ministry and its location. It will be a great study to help us learn more about knowing what we believe and why we believe it.

A lot of ministry activities and events are scheduled for May. I will appreciate your prayers that all events will be used to glorify God. Our continued goal is to allow God to make long and lasting changes in our lives. We desire to return home more emboldened with God's purpose for our lives in a deeper way.

I would like to ask that you please continue to pray for our efforts here to reach our soldiers and service members with God's Word. Also, please pray for the safety of all our soldiers and service members as they conduct their missions each day. Your prayers mean so much to all of us, and we can feel them!

As we continue this deployment, it is our desire to keep the same passion for our spiritual life thriving and to lift up all our soldiers, as well as our family members in prayer. Please know we are praying for you. We are all grateful for the on-going support you have provided from home. Please know your support continues to lift the morale of all our soldiers. Thank you!

It is exciting to see what God is doing here at Camp Habbaniyah! God is on the move!! I will update you next months in the Chaplain's Corner section of the FRG newsletters on what is taking place in our chapel community. I would enjoy hearing from you. Please e-mail me with prayer requests, comments, etc. My AKO is randal.robison@us.army.mil. Also, please let me know if you are responding to the Chaplain's Corner. I look forward hearing from you soon.

Again, thank you all for your prayer support and all the items you have sent our way for the soldiers. May God continue to bless you all in all things in 2005!
