In April, HHC began to make plans for the expected redeployment back to the States. April also saw the preparation for the change of command that is to take place in mid-May.

The long time HHC CO, CPT Farmer, made ready his company as the new incoming commander, CPT Jordan, conducted his change of command inventories. A complicated change under the best circumstances, it was made even more difficult due to the nature of combat operations in Iraq. Despite the unusual circumstances of our deployment from Korea to Iraq and under a tight and difficult-to-meet schedule, CPT Jordan was finally able to finish his inspections by the close of the month.

Of note this month was the announcements of the 1LTs who made the Captains' list and are now promoteable: 1LT Brady Bagwan, 1LT Cody Beck, 1LT Ryan Davis, and 1LT Michael McCullough. Also of note in officer promotions was LT John A. Berg's promotion to 1LT. Enlisted promotions included SGT Mylick, SGT Queener, and SGT Brown.
