Gator Newsletter (Jun 05)
Greetings from Headquarters Platoon! May brought change to Gator Company. First and foremost, we saw CPT Jason Davis ride off into the desert after nearly two years in command. We thank him for his devotion and dedication and wish him well as he finishes his time in the brigade as the Assistant S-4 before PCSing to Hawaii upon return to the States. Our new commander is CPT Matthew Farmer, a graduate of the United States Military Academy. He comes to us with one command on his resume as the former commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment. We saw the return of PFC Morgan and PFC Lazich from leave. PFC Lazich was lucky enough to be invited to a Texas Rangers game where he and other Soldiers were recognized before the crowd while awaiting a connecting flight home in Dallas. He has a foul ball to prove it. PFC Bailey is now on leave and enjoying some well-deserved time with the family. Our company mortars conducted a couple of live shoots adding another element of firepower to the fight. Our time here is almost through, and our goal of one day being reunited with our loved ones is almost a reality. Thank you for all your support throughout this tour. Without you, this last year would have been tougher than it was. Our return to Fort Carson will bring about change to the unit. Some of our outstanding Soldiers will PCS to other installations, and some will ETS to a life in the civilian world. We would like to thank these fine Soldiers for their service and sacrifice to the company and wish them the best of luck in their careers and futures. 1LT Mark V. RossFire Support Officer |
