Chaplain's Corner (Jun 05)
The hot weather is back!! We are being reminded what it felt like last August and September when we first arrived to Habbaniyah. Although it is hot now, it is only going to get hotter! We are bracing ourselves now for the heatwave to come. I want to let each of you know we are planning special events in the month of June in the chapel. Our Father's Day service is scheduled for Sunday, June 19th. The service will focus on God's plan for men to lead and love their spouses and their children as God designed it to be. Our ultimate goal is to return to you better men than how you knew us in the past. It is our desire to be the best son, husband, and father we can be. Please pray for us that God's will see us through on our efforts. Our Wednesday evening Bible Study is well underway. Our new study guide, The Man in the Mirror, has been very useful and even challenging. We are all learning from it as we prayerfully discuss it each week. Our study group continues to grow, and our soldiers are reaching out to their teammates to come. God is moving in our lives here at Camp Habbaniyah, and we see His grace working in our lives each day. Our Friday evening Fellowship completed our Bible study on different world views we encounter each day. It was a fruitful study, and one we all grew from. Truly the Biblical world view is God's design for our lives and the only one that offers solutions to life's deepest needs. We now started another series entitled, 'They Sold Their Soul for Rock and Roll'. The series is an in-depth study on music and how music influences our lives. The attendance has been profound. It is a five week video series that really explains more about the deceptive power of music. It is exciting to see what God is doing here at Camp Habbaniyah! God is on the move!! I will update you in July in the Chaplain's Corner section of the FRG newsletters and let you know what is taking place in our chapel community. I would enjoy hearing from you. Please e-mail me with prayer requests, comments, etc. My AKO is randal.robison@us.army.mil. I look forward hearing from you soon. Again, thank you all for your prayer support and all the items you have sent our way for the soldiers. May God bless you all in all things! Chaplain (CPT) Randy RobisonCurrahee Shepherd |
