HHC/1-506 IN Former Commander's Biography

Matthew S. FarmerCaptain Farmer was born in Fairfax, Virginia. He attended the United States Military Academy where he earned a bachelor's of science and was commissioned as an Infantry 2LT in 1998.

His past assignments include: Platoon Leader in Charlie Company, Scout Platoon Leader, HHC XO, and S-1 of 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He has also served as the HHC Commander of 1st Battalion, 506th, 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Greaves, Republic of Korea and at Camp Habbaniyah, Iraq.

CPT Farmer has attended all the requisite schools for Infantry Captains. He has received an Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and the Combat Infantryman's Badge.
