STANDARD OPERATING POLICIES
of
The 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment Association
(Airmobile - Air Assault)

 

1. Membership - the following are eligible for membership in the Association:

A. Regimental Members - All those who were or are assigned to the 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment ( 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Battalions ). Assigned personnel is defined as those who served in any Company, in any of the three Battalions of the Regiment.

B. Affiliated Members - Individuals who have served or are serving in units attached to the 506th Airborne Infantry Regiment (1st, 2nd, or 3rd Battalions). Attached personnel is defined as those who, while assigned to another unit, were attached and actually served with one of the Companies in the Regiment ( i.e. Medical Personnel while assigned to the 326th Medical Battalion actually served with the Regiment. Artillery Forward Observers while assigned to the 2nd Battalion 319th Artillery or D Battery, 2nd Battalion 320th Artillery actually served with the Regiment. Scout Dog Handlers while assigned to the 58th Scout Dog Platoon actually served with the Regiment).

C. Associated Members - Spouses or other immediate family members of any deceased member of the Association. In addition, any other individuals or organizations who wish to support the Association.

2. Association Roster - Is not to be sold by the Association nor used by the Association or Members for any type of unauthorized solicitation.

3. Communications with Membership:

A. Currahee Newsletter - Is to be published at least three ( 3 ) times annually. Suggested publication dates are as follows - on or before January15th; May 15th; and September 15th.

B. Currahee Home Page - Is a Internet website which is to contain general information about the Association and should be updated monthly or when new information is provided or approved by the Officers of the Association.

4. Reunions:

A. Are to be held every two years ( even number years - i.e. 2000; 2002; 2004; etc.… ).

B. A general Membership meeting is to be held at each Reunion.

5. Membership Dues - Annual Dues is to be paid on or before March 31st each year. Currently the Dues structure of the Association is as follows:

A. $15 Dues entitles the Member to the most recent Association Roster of the Members' Company.

B. $25 Dues entitles the Member to the most recent Association Roster of the entire Association.
( If any Member has an overseas address an additional $5 is required to cover the cost of overseas postage ).
