BAGHDAD, March 1, 2006 - Multi-National Division - Baghdad soldiers detained a suspected terrorist and discovered a cache of weapons and US and Iraqi currency at approximately 7:35 p.m. February 28 southeast of Baghdad. Soldiers from 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, were conducting a cordon and search when they discovered a cache containing two AK-47s, 16 AK-47 magazines, 100 9mm rounds, 651,000 Iraqi dinar, 25 sheets of uncut 1,000 Iraqi dinar bills, $15,000 US and five cell phones. Soldiers detained one male at the residence. The incident is currently under investigation. |
