MND-B Soldiers Find, Disarm IEDs

FOB LOYALTY, July 29, 2006 - Soldiers from 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad, found three improvised-explosive devices and detained one terrorist Wednesday in eastern Baghdad.

Soldiers from Company A, 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th BCT, found two IEDs while conducting route clearance operations in eastern Baghdad. After spotting the IEDs, a cordon was set up and the soldiers noticed a suspicious person following the patrol. The suspect was taken into custody for questioning.

In another incident, soldiers from 2nd Platoon, Troop B, 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th BCT, found an IED while conducting a patrol in eastern Baghdad. An Explosive Ordinance Disposal team was called in to disarm the IED.

There was no reported damage to MND-B personnel or equipment in either event.
