Terrorist Attacks Kill Seven Iraqis, Wound Six

BAGHDAD, Iraq, March 3, 2006 - Three Iraqi civilians were killed and three were wounded March 2 when terrorists detonated two roadside bombs in a marketplace in southeast Baghdad at approximately 11 a.m.

Iraqi police, Multi-National Division - Baghdad's 2nd Public Order Battalion Special Police Transition Team and MND - Baghdad's 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, responded to the scene to provide security and assist with the wounded.

Elsewhere, four local nationals were killed and three were wounded in northern Baghdad when a suicide bomber detonated a vehicle-borne improvised-explosive device rigged to a minibus at approximately 12:45 p.m.

Elements of the Iraqi Army arrived on the scene to provide security and assist with the wounded.

The wounded were evacuated to a local hospital for treatment.

The incidents are under investigation by Iraqi authorities.
