FOB LOYALTY, Iraq, August 17, 2006 - Multi-National Division - Baghdad soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, discovered seven vans and two busses with false fuel tanks at a gas station in the Zafaraniya District of eastern Baghdad August 9. A criminal gang from the Karadah area had taken over the gas station so they could fill the false tanks in their vehicles with gas that could then be resold on the black market to fund illegal activities. When the 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment
arrived at the scene, the gang was in control of the gas station
and the criminals were in the process of filling up the vehicles.
The soldiers confiscated most of the vehicles with the illegal
modifications and rendered the remaining illegal vehicles fully
inoperable.
