Activated June 1956 as the 801st Maintenance Battalion (Airborne Division) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Redesignated 19 January 1988 as the 801st Maintenance Battalion (Airmobile) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky
Reorganized October 1992 as a Main Support Battalion
Reorganized 16 August 2004 as the 801st Brigade Support Battalion for the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)
