Tower 2, the main tower of Guard Post Collier, as seen from the barracks during the
winter DRF (Division Ready Force) Guard Post Rotation

Observing North Korea
In Tower 2, looking northeast and using ship binoculars to observe North
Korean personnel performing maintenance on their loud speakers

Tower 1

Looking toward Tower 1: in the distance is Bonifas Bridge, re-named in honor of
CPT Arthur G. Bonifas, one of two UNCSB-Joint Security Area officers killed on
18 August 1976, during the "Ax Murder Incident" at Panmunjom, when a numerically
superior North Korean force attacked the United Nations Command soldiers guarding
a civilian work detail trimming a tree (inside the Joint Secutiry Area) that was blocking
the view between the two outposts near the Bridge of No Return.

Note the small yellow sign in the upper right section of the photo. A series of these signs
mark the middle of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). This line is known as the Military
Demarcation Line and is the actual border between North and South Korea.
