Chalk Order and Manifested

Team Spirit was an annual 10-day joint and combined training exercise designed to test
the military capabilities of US and South Korean troops.




MAJ Gonzales

MAJ Gonzales [HHC (S3), 1st BN]

Team Spirit '92 was cancelled in hopes of improving North and South Korean ties and
reducing tensions on the Korean peninsula, and Team Spirit '93 was on again, off again,
due to the political situation at the time.




SSG Chastain

SSG Chastain and the "3rd Herd" . . . 3rd Platoon, Alpha Company

The 1st Battalion of the 506th had less than a month's notice that they were
the unit taking part in Team Spirit '93.




C-130
The A Company "Gators" were selected to fly down to the area of operations, near Yoju, in the
area of the Han River. They went by C-130 and linked up with the rest of the 1st Battalion there.
