CH-47 Flame Drop
March 24: CH-47 Chinook flame drop on B Company's original location near
the Ice Cream Cone before the NVA sprung an ambush on a JP-4 Tanker
Truck
. The drop was necessary to attempt to destroy a mechanical ambush
left in B Company's haste to move out to confront the NVA ambush.



RVN Tank

An RVN tank rolls west down Highway QL-9 toward FSB Vandergrift.



Razorback Ridge
March 25: this photo of Razorback Ridge north of Highway QL-9 was taken
while B Company was on the move.



Captured NVA Chinese Radio
April 4: Captured NVA Chinese radio from a group of five NVA killed
earlier in the morning. The NVA were a forward observer team heading
back north with maps of all bases, sighting circles, and wads of money.



Captured AK47 Assault Rifle

North of the Rockpile on a high-speed NVA trail, Don Thies holds a captured
AK47 assault rifle after an ambush. The AK47 clip holds 30 rounds. An NVA
backpack
is in the front left of the photo; Don's backpack is back right (note the
stack of letters on Don's backpack).



Captured AK50 Assault Rifle
Patrick Bailey, artillery RTO, with one of the AK50 assault rifles captured
in the ambush. The AK50 had a pistol grip and a folding stock.

for SFC Tom Shepherd and PFC Gary J. Fiedler held at the USO Theater at
Camp Evans after B Company returned from Operation Lam Son 719.
