Weapons Squad

Weapons Squad, 1st Platoon, Alpha Company "Easy", 2nd BN

This photo was taken in Baghdad at Camp Falcon, where the 2nd Battalion, 506th RCT
was attached to the 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. However 1st Platoon, A Company,
2nd BN and the entire C Company, 2nd BN, 506th RCT were moved to Camp Prosperity,
where they were attached to the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade,
4th Infantry Division
as part of Task Force Cobra, 4th BCT, 4th ID.





Al Salam Palace
Camp Prosperity was on the grounds of the Al Salam Palace in the "International Zone,"
about a mile outside of the heart of downtown Baghdad. Quarters were tight for the Currahees
at Camp Prosperity.

1st Platoon at Camp Prosperity, where they were tasked to ensure the safety of key
personnel. The large crossed sabres (middle of the photo) mark the parade field
located in downtown Baghdad.

The Currahees at Camp Prosperity were the Quick Reaction Force (QRF), for the "Cobra
Brigade." They were ready at a moment's call -- 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.

A QRF is a team of soldiers who can quickly respond with force to enemy attacks and
dangerous situations. When they get a call, they have to be up and gone almost instantly.
