Hello from Iraq. I would just like to thank each and every
Currahee out there that has supported Alpha Company with each and every care package. Now for some news from the front. We have been very active conducting mounted and dismounted patrols in our sector. This includes working with the Iraqi Police and the National Police [new name for the Public Order Brigades (POB)]. Soldiers in the Company remain in high spirits, and many have enjoyed mid-tour leave. It goes without saying that we have had our share of close calls and expect to see more in the future, but the officers, NCOs, and soldiers hard training has paid off and will continue to do so as their level of experience continues to grow. |

To continue the esprit de corps of the regiment, Easy Company
had a coin made, and the coin will be issued only to soldiers who pass a board comprised of Platoon Leaders, Platoon Sergeants, and the Company Commander and First Sergeant. Soldiers will be asked questions on regimental history dating to its founding, 101st Division history, weapons, infantry battle drills, and present unit history. |
