COL Sean M. Jenkins


Colonel Sean M. Jenkins was commissioned as an infantry officer upon graduation from the United States Military Academy in 1988. He also holds a Master of Advance Military Studies Degree from the United States Army Command and General Staff College and a Master of Business Administration in Aviation from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.

His previous assignments include infantry rifle platoon leader and scout platoon leader in 3rd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, Fort Drum, New York and platoon leader, company executive officer, assistant battalion S3, battalion liaison officer and battalion S3 in the 75th Ranger Regiment at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Georgia. In the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, he served as the 3rd Brigade Assistant S3 and as a Company Commander of Delta Company and Headquarters and Headquarters Company of 1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment. He also served at the United States National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California as the HHC and Battalion S4 Trainer; the Regimental Liaison and Regimental S3 in the 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning Georgia, as Battalion Commander of 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (ABN), Fort Richardson, Alaska and as Battalion Commander of 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia. His last assignment was as a National Security Fellow at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Colonel Sean Jenkins is currently serving as the Commander of the 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

His combat service includes multiple deployments to Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Colonel Jenkins' awards, decorations and badges include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star (3rd Award), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4th Award), Army Commendation Medal (7th Award), Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), Air Assault Badge, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Expert Infantryman's Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge and Ranger Tab.

Colonel Jenkins is married to the former Karin Hanson of Berwyn, Pennsylvania. They have three children, Noah, Thayer and Charlotte Wynn.
