DOD Announces Afghanistan
Force Deployment
The Department of Defense announced today the deployment of
an additional 4,100 soldiers
to Afghanistan, part of the 30,000 troops authorized by President
Barack Obama on
November 30, 2009. The 4th Brigade Combat
Team, 101st Airborne Division, from Fort
Campbell, KY, will deploy approximately
3,200 soldiers in the late summer of 2010.
