Currahees Meet Currahee: May 24, 1974, article from The Courier, Fort Campbell, KY; submitted by COL(R) William A. Whittle (B/HHC, 1st BN, 1974-1976)

Bringing Hope to Freezing Troops was a Real Challenge: (Adobe PDF file) by Susan Ives [first woman on the 101st Division (Air Assault) general staff] about the Joint Readiness Exercise Empire Glacier 1978

From Susan Ives: That was a very strange exercise -- in addition to the USO troupe, I rented the Dry Hill Ski area and had regular movie nights, when they were still 35mm. I . . . was given ski lessons by COL Jobert, of the 10th Mountain Division, who had been an alternate to the US Olympic Ski Team. Despite the cold, it was a fun exercise.
