Columbus, GA
Columbus is the third largest city in Georgia, with
a population of almost 200,000. It is located about 105 miles
SE of Atlanta and 90 miles E of Montgomery, on the Alabama border.
A major regional service center, it is the county seat of Muscogee
County, and is home to several colleges, hospitals, arts and
athletic facilities and a major regional indoor shopping mall.
Transportation - Columbus is served by regional airlines
from Atlanta, as well as by several shuttle and bus service connections
from the Atlanta airport and by Greyhound lines. It is located
on I-185 with direct connection to Atlanta, and also is on US
Highways 27, 80, 280 and 431. Columbus has municipal bus service
and a number of cab companies.
