Things to do in Harrisburg

The Association selected Harrisburg because it is centrally located and easily accessible to the majority of members, but
also because of the variety of attractions in and around this bustling city when you aren’t busy at Currahee activities and
events. Harrisburg is the capital city of Pennsylvania and an important regional center, with the third busiest airport in
Pennsylvania, more than a dozen colleges in the immediate vicinity, and a multitude of attractions for history buffs, culture
lovers, shoppers and just plain sightseers. By way of example, Harrisburg, adjacent Hershey and nearby cities offer
these activities:

Historical
Major Dick Winters Exhibit at the Hershey-Derry Township Historical Society (Hershey)
Antique Auto Museum (Hershey)
Hershey Story / The Museum on Chocolate (Hershey)
The National Civil War Museum (Harrisburg)
The State Museum of Pennsylvania (Harrisburg)

Hershey is just fifteen minutes from downtown Harrisburg.
Carlisle, home also to the Army War College, Historical Center and former Indian College, is a half-hour from Harrisburg.
Gettysburg is about 45 minutes from Harrisburg
Lancaster County is about 45 miles from Harrisburg.
