Submission Policies

For GRAPHICS:

Contributions of graphics such as photos, maps and memorabilia will be accepted for possible display on the 506th Association web site. If you send a graphic include information such as what the image depicts, location, identities of people in a photo, copyright protection notices, and any other information that will add to the historical significance of the image.

Graphics should be in JPEG or GIF format in a standard size that would be of interest to others. Extremely large format photos must be reduced for inclusion on the pages. One of the exception to large files is a map image. Visitors to the site are likely to expect large files when selecting a map view. Images selected for display on the Association pages will be placed in the most appropriate forum. Specific interest photo's such as "Recon Team E Company 1st Battalion 506th July 1969" will be placed on a Vietnam Era page for the 1st Battalion. General interest photo's such as "Sainte. Mere Eglise Town Square 1944" may be placed in the World War II Era page as well as a general section.

The site maintainers will attempt to update pages with new submissions as soon as possible. Submissions can be made to the page maintainer identified on the bottom of site pages. Photos that take time to format, clean up or identify content will take more time to address.

For ARTICLES:

Original works are preferred, but copyrighted material is acceptable. If authorization to use copyrighted material does not accompany the submission, it may take a long time for the site maintainers to receive permission to display the work. Links to sites of works in progress can also be included on our pages. Original work that is submitted should be in a standard electronic text format including Word, Word Perfect or Rich Text Format.

Government documents that are scanned can be submitted in graphic format. If the document exists in an electronic text format we would appriciate receiving the text file rather than a graphic.

For PERSONAL REMEMBRANCES:

Personal Remembrances will be accepted from anyone who knew a Currahee Killed in Action. A short notation and picture can be placed on a Remembrance Page while long stories or other photo's will be linked to the Remembrance Page. eMail links to individuals can be included in the notation portion of the page.
